About TJ Barranger

Designer, writer, problem solver

From an early age, I enjoyed drawing pictures, and writing stories and poetry. But I never had the patience or the temperament to pursue an education in fine art. In fact, I found some of my artistic peers to be rather condescending and pretentious. I always had an affinity for logos and advertising — simple, tasteful artwork that serves a purpose. But it wasn't until my late 20s that I realized graphic design might be the path for me. After years away from art, I started designing — poorly, I'll admit — and I began reading about and studying design. Along the way, I discovered the work and writing of legendary designer, Paul Rand. I went down the rabbit hole of modernist design, and I never looked back.
